SketchUp 2022 - Additional Modelling Changes 1

We concentrated on increasing the uniformity of how modeling operated from tool to tool in 2021.1, particularly on our ten core tools. This version includes a few major tool behavior modifications to the Tape Measure, Classifier, Position Texture, and directional inferencing tooltips. More information regarding these modifications may be found in our release notes.

LayOut

Su2021 2022launch Blog 2 Hero Layout

With Auto-Text updates and Find & Replace, LayOut helps you work faster and more efficiently than ever before.

We are providing new Auto-Text tags that may be selected from the Auto-Text menu in label generation or template labels, in addition to current labels that pull entity or component characteristics from SketchUp viewports in LayOut.
All of these labels may be used in scrapbooks or with clear label leads. This means you may drag Auto-Text labels in from a scrapbook, click enter to drag the label leader, and the value associated with that viewport will appear automatically.

Viewport-based Auto-Text labels

In addition to existing labels that pull entity or component attributes from SketchUp viewports in LayOut, we are introducing new Auto-Text tags that can be selected from the Auto-Text menu in label creation or templated labels.
You can use all of these labels in scrapbooks or with transparent label leaders. This means that you can drag Auto-Text labels in from a scrapbook, hit enter to drag the label leader, and then the value associated with that viewport automatically displays.

These tags include <SceneName>, <SceneDescription>, <Scale>, <Ratio>, and <Coordinates()> parameter input.

With new and enhanced viewport-based Auto-Text labels, you can leverage more of the information included in SketchUp models while producing documents, making your templates more powerful and efficient. For example, you may use an Auto-Text element to populate a drawing title with your Scene name or description. Then use a tag to display the current viewport's scale. If the scale of the model viewport changes, the scale call out will immediately adapt.
